Resident Teaching Artist Opportunity for TK-12 Education
Position Title: Teaching Artist in visual and performing art disciplines
Status: Part-time work, Independent Contractor position

Compensation: $28+ per workshop, fee negotiable. Inquire for more information.
Schedule: Set your own schedule as long as you can fulfill the contract
Area: Opportunities throughout Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties
REQUIREMENTS
• Two years working with youth (elementary and middle school). Also looking for teachers with varied experience TK-12.
• An imaginative approach to teaching visual and/or performing arts to students
• The ability to manage a classroom of up to 30 students
• Reliable transportation
• Knowledge of Google Drive
• Live Scan certification and TB clearance done specifically through the Santa Barbara County Education Office
PREFERRED
• Experience working with socio-economically disadvantaged communities and/or Title I schools.
• Bilingual or multilingual
• Degree from an accredited institution or in progress
• Familiarity with and experience teaching current California Arts Standards
• Preference with background teaching multicultural programming
• Priority for diversity, equity, and inclusivity
DESCRIPTION
Teaching artists will lead weekly art classes in their preferred discipline in TK-12 school classrooms throughout San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, many with Title I status. Flexibility and creativity are central to this position due to the nature of working with classroom teachers during the allotted time for arts education.

ABOUT CHILDREN’S CREATIVE PROJECT
Children’s Creative Project is an organization within the Santa Barbara County Education office dedicated to providing arts experiences for underserved children and collaborating with school districts, artists, and arts organizations to develop arts education programs. Teaching artists for Children’s Creative Project work directly alongside classroom teachers to bring equitable access to arts experience as a positive influence for students in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.
