Resident Artist Workshops offer students and teachers the unique opportunity to work with local artists in the visual and performing arts. During school hours, artists conduct sequential, participatory workshops for classrooms in:

DANCE       THEATER       MUSIC       VISUAL ARTS

We work with individual schools and school districts to design programs to meet their needs and budgets. Workshops provide opportunities for creative expression, skill development, and joyful discovery. After-school workshops are also available.

Students increase their understanding of artists, the creative process, artistic perception, creative expression, aesthetic valuing, and historical and cultural arts heritage. The workshops emphasize concentration, critical thinking, group cooperation, self-confidence, and positive self-esteem.

Workshops presented address the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards for California Public Schools and can integrate the arts with academic subject areas.

Professional development conducted by resident artists and touring artists is offered for classroom teachers. The workshops are designed for the needs of an individual school or school district.
